Lepidoptera refers to the order of winged insects that includes butterflies and moths. They are the second largest insect order in the world (behind Beetles), and perhaps the most widely recognized. Moths and butterflies have been seen in the fossil record since the late Triassic period, and have fascinatingly co-evolved with flowering plants.

Moths are associated with the night, while butterflies are more active during the day. These mitts are a fun way to wear the moon and a moth on your wrists; showing your love for the nocturnal lepidoptera and all things lunar. They feature moon phases on the underside of the wrist & palm, with a large moth design on top.
These are an enjoyable stranded colourwork project knit in fingering weight yarn.
