This free dog sweater knitting pattern is for a dog jumper, to fit dogs from 20 to 60 cm in length, measured from collar to base of tail. It is a beginner friendly pattern which is easy to knit. Designed for dogs with stiff legs who can’t easily pop their legs into a typical dog sweater, this jacket fastens under the tummy

Sizes
The pattern is written in 5 sizes for lengths of dog, from collar to base of tail. It fits dogs of 20 (30, 40) 50, 60) cm length, and is adjustable for dogs of any width.

measured over garter stitch
10 stitches = 10 cm / 4 inches
18 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches

Skill level
This is a basic, beginner friendly pattern.the pattern was a request from my sister, who only knew the very basics, but wanted to try and knit one herself.
It uses:
Cable cast on (instructions given)
Increases (kfb, or ‘knit front back’)
Decreases (k2tog, or knit to together)
And casting off.

Dog Accessability
This pattern was purpose designed for a dog with severe elbow arthritis, who cannot lift her legs to put on most jackets. Great for dogs with arthritis, displaysia, or any dog where you may want to put the jacket on with least fuss.
