Lúnasa means August in Gaeilge.
These socks were designed to celebrate the season of autumn. Traditionally, in Ireland, autumn begins in August as the harvest is brought in and the leaves begin to turn on the trees. Lughnasa or Lúnasa is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season.
Initially, the Kit came with two 50g skeins of ombré dyed yarn, one for each sock. The socks are knit from the double ribbed cuff to the toe, incorporating a cable panel along the front, a slip stitch heel and shaped gusset. You can decide whether to work from golden yellow to brown or autumnal brown to yellow.
