Luonnotar is a female spirit from the Finnish folklore Kalevala.
We Finns celebrate out 100 years of independence this year (2017) so I thought it would only be appropriate to design a pair of sock in the honor!

This pattern is worked in the round toe up, and the heel is a upside down gusset heel.
