Stunning ripple blanket inspired by the colours of Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides, Scotland.

This blanket is worked in just 2 basic stitches. It can of course be worked plain, or with the stripes shown. Full instructions given. Photo guide in pattern for how to make the tassels.

Most Aran yarns will work, and tension is unimportant.

The format is UK crochet, not US, (please refer to a UK stitch guide, and not YouTube, if unsure of stitches!)

You will need approx 1600g of Aran in 4 different colours, and a 7mm crochet hook for the blanket.

I used James C Brett Aran with wool. Yardage per 100g – 160m.

Other suggested yarns: Red Heart Soft Aran, Patons Wool Blend Aran, Bernat Satin Aran, Lion Brand Vanners Choice Aran, West Yorkshire Spinners Jacobs Hank Aran, Caron One Pound Yarn.
