This shawlette has the sumptuous lace and heavy beading beloved by the Victorians with the modern twist of a slightly assymetrical, long low triangle shape. Truly beautiful continuously changing lace (not difficult to work) that features a “resting” purl row in between each row of 14 stitch lace repeats. Short rows (with complete directions and an illustration for picking up the wraps at the very end are included.

The lace is strong enough to work without beads, for those that want a quicker project. This is a gorgeous shawl; perfect for gifts for any girl/woman you know! I like using Merino wool for shawls since it has such good resiliency. The shape maintains well and it can take fierce blocking! I chose a heathered grey with black beads, but it would be awesome in a strong color like magenta with the same black beads, or in white with pearly beads for a fabulous wedding shawl.

The lace is charted with accompanying written directions for working from the chart on each row. You’ll need 1,384 black opaque 6/0 glass beads and a size US 13/14 steel crochet hook OR the smallest size Fleegle Beader (etsy.com). Beads are hooked on with instructions included for doing this in the pattern.

I named this design after my amazing cousin, Lynn. She has a beautiful home and even though she has raised a bunch of boys, she is still a girly girl!
