Lyydi summer socks are named after my grandma, who tought me to knit when I was 5 years old. She sadly passed away in 2020, but her memory continues to live in my knitwear. Lyydi summer socks are classic socks with a twist. Socks are knitted top down starting from a lovely picot edging and continued with a twisted moss stitch. Design has a heel flap and gusset heel construction. You can use magic loop or double pointed needles.

Socks are knitted from cuff to toes with 2mm needles using magic loop. Design starts with the picot edging and easy stitch pattern. Heel is constructed with reinforsed heel flap and gusset. Stitch pattern is continued in the instep. Toes are knit in stockinette with basic toe decreases.

You can use either Filcolana Arwetta or Sadnes Garn Tynn Line for slightly different styles. Sample is knitted with cotton yarn, which I wouldn´t recommend as it loosens up quite a bit. Design is test knitted in yarns mentioned above.

I would suggest light and muted colours for this pattern, as it flatters the beautiful yet simple stitch pattern and highlights the delicate picot edging.

They are so cute, aren´t they? If you have any questions, please leave me a comment or a message!
