These pieces were created for use by Around The Table Yarns for the 2026 Yarn Discovery Tour.

Designed with the idea of using 2 skeins of contrasting color DK-weight yarn to create 2 separate pieces, these are small accessories that have a big impact!

The Mabel Mosaic Cowl is a striking example of mosaic colorwork worked in the round and can easily be made by any crocheter who

  • is a confident beginner
  • has worked with mosaic in the round
  • may new to mosaic but is happy to take some time to look up mosaic instruction resources in order to be successful

The sample used 160 yards of a main color and 95 yards of a contrast color in 1918 Yarn Co’s Comstok DK. A similar DK yarn may be used.

After blocking, the finished cowl measures 9” tall and 11” across when laid flat.

The Frederic Scarf is ideal for confident beginners or intermediate crocheters who are interested in texture and would like to try a stitch that may be new to them.

The sample used 80 yards each of 2 contrasting colors in 1918 Yarn Co’s Comstok DK. A similar DK yarn may be used.

After blocking, the finished scarf measures 48” long and 4.5” deep. Gauge is not crucial on this piece, as long as the length works based on you preferred method to wear it.

Both pieces use a 4.5mm (US7) hook.
