The sample for this pattern was made in 2 strands of combed cotton but can be made in any 4 ply yarn some yarn are differne t weight and thicknesses so it might be a good idea to do a tension swatch first also the sizes are average and quite generous but as some children are smaller or larger it may be a good idea if possible to measure the circumfrence of the childs head before starting your pattern. The pattern is quite easy to make and is suited to the home knitter
