This is the amigurumi Mad Hatter pattern from Handmade Yaya La Arañita Shop, with which you will have a complete and explicit guide to make this beautiful doll, you require intermediate knowledge in the art of crochet to make it. This guide is written in the English language, contains 60 images and a detailed step by step that will support you in the construction of this project, in case of any concern you can also contact me.

The Hatter character, alongside all the other fictional beings, first appears in Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In “Chapter Seven – A Mad Tea-Party”, while exploring Wonderland, Alice comes across the Hatter having tea with the March Hare and the Dormouse. The Hatter explains to Alice that they are always having tea because when he tried to sing for the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts, she sentenced him to death for “murdering the time”, but he escapes decapitation. In retaliation, Time (referred to as “he” by the Hatter) halts himself in respect to the Hatter, keeping him stuck at 6:00 pm (or 18:00) forever. This character has been my inspiration for this project.

This character was made of acrylic and cotton thread. To create it of 10 1/2” inch you must use a 2.5mm crochet hook. The filling used was wadding (or synthetic filling siliconized).
Making this amigurumi requires intermediate skills in the art of crochet. In the course of the construction of this project, you will be able to gain experience that will allow you in the future to contribute details and solutions to new projects that will improve your results. Without leaving behind that as an art you should always be in search of your expression.
