This simple but pretty textured beanie includes an option for a messy bun hat with a nice wide opening to accommodate thick hair. The pattern is written as a single set of instructions which can be sized up or down by adjusting the hook used. A gauge check is given for the sizes listed below. The hat can also be sized down for a smaller child by using a thinner yarn, but I have not included specific instructions for this.

This is a written pattern with a chart included for the body portion of the hat.

Messy Bun Hat sample was made using Loops & Threads Chameleon in Creme de Menthe. Full Beanie sample was made using Lion Brand Heartland in 171 Cuyahoga Valley.
