Sweet yet a little tough, Madelief is a great children’s hoodie for outside wear on a cool Spring or Fall day as well as to wear indoors when it’s freezing cold out. Knit in yummy bulky yarn, it knits up quickly and features a very simple cable along the front edges, back and down the sleeves. The contrasting color on the button band, sleeve and hood’s edges allows you to play with color a bit; I really like this in a combination of hand-dyed and solid yarns. Madelief is a seamless design, knit from the top down and with raglan sleeves, and was named after a famous character in Dutch children’s literature, who, like this hoodie, is a little tough, and very sweet. The pattern comes in 8 sizes ranging from 3 months to 8 years old.
