One 32-inch/ 80 cm circular needle 2.75 mm needle size 2.75 and DPNs in for I-cord
Note: I used four 32-ich circular needles in size 2.75 mm needles for each side of the blanket. You could use a longer knitting cord to keep all the live stitches safe and sound and just use one 32-inch circular needle on the side of the blanket you are working on. 2.75 is my favorite needle size, so I was lucky enough to have needles at home to use a needle for each side.

Introduction
This baby blanket was designed and knit for Baby Mads, to keep him warm at home or on the go. It’s the perfect size to keep him warm in his pram, stroller, or car seat, or while being held by his mama. The XO pattern is taken from a sweater I made for his dad. The X is the Saint Andrew’s Cross that represents humility. The X also represents salvation, the point where heaven and earth meet and at the center of Christianity, Jesus Christ. The O is the sun and also the wheel of Life. Baby Mads was named after my Grandpa Hansen’s Grandfather Mads Hansen who immigrated to the United States. The stripes of colorwork represent generations following generations. The small stars representing protection, guidance, and light. I put stars in two on the motifs. One of the patterns I designed stars shining over the mountains (my family lives in the Rocky Mountains), and the other has stars in between houses representing our home and Mads’ home, and his cousins’ homes and the Hansen home where his great grandma lives and is located on Mads Hansen’s homestead. The home represents safety and love (there’s a little heart on the house). And in the negative space between the stars next to the houses and the mountains above it are a row of hearts that stands for endless love and courage. My grandfather’s Grandfather Mads was the essence of hope, love, courage, faith and generosity. This blanket connects Baby Mads to his family, reminds him he is dearly loved, will protect him from the cold, and will help him feel all of our love. Knit with super soft Rauma Tumi, this alpaca/wool blend will keep our baby, and yours, warm throughout the year. And best of all It’s hyggeligt!
