This blanket is available as a single pattern or as part of the For the Love of Stories eBook Vol. 2 - Blankets. Unfortunately, prior purchases cannot be credited toward the purchase of the eBook.

This blanket is inspired by the story of Puff the Magic Dragon. The cozy Dragon Skin pattern emerges from the center of the blanket, growing into an open mist edging. The stitch patterns will work best in a solid, tonal, or gradient yarn. Now in two sizes!

This pattern is charted only.

Finished Size: approx. 30” (40”) square 76 cm (101 cm) after blocking.

Materials:
• Worsted weight yarn, such as Berroco Ultra Wool, 545 yds (990) yds, 498 m (905 m)
• US Size 8 (5 mm) 40” (101 cm) minimum circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• US Size 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm) DPNs or magic loop for cast on and beginning section
• Stitch markers of different types (1 BOR, 3 for corners, plenty for marking pattern repeats)
• Tapestry needle

Gauge: 18 sts = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch before blocking, 17 sts = 4” (10 cm) after blocking on largest needles. This gauge creates a stockinette fabric that is easier to measure than a gauge knit in the pattern stitch. The Dragon Skin pattern will not be as loose as the stockinette fabric appears in the gauge.
