The Magical Mermaid hat was designed for a wonderful friend, going through a very difficult time, because she needed some magic in her life. I had the yarn but couldn’t find the right pattern, so I made up my own. That was 2 years ago. I love this pattern because it’s so simple, and yet the slipped rib adds so much interest to the pattern and turns a boring ribbing into something fun!

This hat looks great in variegated, speckled, solid, and even color changing yarns! Grab some DK or a couple of skeins of fingering held together, and cast one on!
