’The loose end cascaded to the ground with the final snip that finished their project. They held the completed sock up to the light to admire their handiwork with satisfaction and laid it atop the matching one beside them. The scraps were pooled on the floor by their foot. They wrapped them up like a neat little bow and dropped them into the scrap’s basket. With each new colourful scrap, the tower grew and grew towards some mystery project they would collect together to create. When the daunting task of weaving in the ends loomed, they knelt by the basket and rooted through the remnants of projects past to find the perfect few for their newest endeavour. And it shall be a gleaming magpie.’

Worked from the top down this triangular shawl starts with a garter tab cast on, it has yo over increases on the RS side which are then worked through the back loop on the WS which closes them up. Binding off with the mohair makes a lovely soft almost invisible edge.

Simple garter stitch makes this shawl a relaxing knit. It is great to use up a sock set or use favourite leftovers to create your own unique version.
