Note: On 09/09/2022 I updated the size range of this pattern. Please note that the old sizes 1-6 are now referred to as sizes 2-7; I added two smaller and two bigger sizes.

The Maia Summer Top is a light and floaty summer top, consisting of romantic and delicate patterns. The instructions are available in two different options: an option with a peplum and a straight option. Moreover, the back side and the front side are constructed in the same way – so you can decide with every wear which side you want to face to the front. You get two tops in one.

In the instructions you will find a detailed pattern chart to help you knit the top. However, not every single step is described in words and basic knitting knowledge is required. Hence, the pattern is not suited for absolute knitting beginners. But if you have some experience, you should be good to go.

Sizing
The pattern is available in 10 sizes:
0 (width: 75 cm) | 1 (width: 80 cm) | 2 (width: 85 cm) | 3 (width: 90 cm) | 4 (width: 95 cm) | 5 (width: 100 cm) | 6 (width: 105 cm) | 7 (width: 110 cm) | 8 (width: 115 cm) | 9 (width: 121 cm).
The denoted width is the width of the finished garment. The top is designed to have a positive ease of 0 - 4 cm.
Example: If the widest point of your upper body (e.g. bust circumference) measures 92 cm, you would go with size 4.

Yarn: Tynn Line by Sandnes Garn or Pure Silk by Knitting for Olive
Variant with the peplum: 100 g | 100 g | 100 g | 150 g | 150 g | 150 g | 150 g | 200 g | 200 g | 250 g
Straight variant: 100 g | 100 g | 100 g | 100 g | 100 g | 150 g | 150 g | 150 g | 200 g | 200 g

Gauge
For this pattern you will need to knit two gauges. If you cannot match them both, prioritize the one in Moss stitch.

  • Stockinette stitch: 26 sts x 19 r = 10 cm x 5 cm
  • Moss stitch: 23 sts x 19/20 r = 10 cm x 5 cm

Needles
You will need a 3,25 mm circular needle or another needle size to best fit the provided gauges.

Note: As a “one-woman-show” I translated this pattern myself. As a native German grammar mistakes in the English pattern can occur. The sizes 2-7 have been test knitted, so you should be good to go. However, the sizes 0,1,8,9 have not been test knitted yet, so if you have any questions or problems, please contact me at quasigerade@web.de - Thank you so much for your support!

Happy Knitting!
