The Maiah bonnet is worked back and forth, on straight or circular needles, in garter stitch from back to front. It is finished by sewing a short seam at the back to create the crown of the hat and by attaching an i-cord edge complete with i-cord ties around the side and back edge of the hat. The sizes are based on the average head circumference for the given age group. Feel free to choose a size more appropriate for the child you’re knitting for, based on their own particular head circumference.

For the beige sample I used Le Coton & Alpaca from Biches & Bûches in the colour Beige and for the brown sample, I used Sandes Double Sunday in the colour 2345 croissant (a similar colour could be 2573 Monk’s Robe as the colour croissant is discontinued), held together with Krea Deluxe, Deluxe Silk Mohair in the colour 09 Karrygul. For the green Bonnet I used Bingo from Lanagrossa, in the colour 732 - Khaki.
