“THIS UNUSUALLY constructed cardigan combines both round and row knitting, and was inspired by the island of Barbados where my parents were born,” says Jeanette Sloan. “The way in which the borders of four parishes (St George, St John, St Philip and Christchurch) meet echoes the way in which the richly textured lace grows outwards from the centre back. The overlapping fronts are worked from the bottom towards the shoulders, where they’re joined to the back by casting off together on the outside.”
