This cardigan was inspired by the 1940s war time look - a time when rationing was severe and women were required to “make do and mend”, repairing and patching up damaged clothing.

There is also a touch of military style to this cardigan, reminiscent of the sensible tweed suits worn by women during wartime. The hem, cuffs, bands and collar are worked in a contrast colour as are the elbow patches and back band.

The cardigan is knit in Rowan Felted Tweed double knit. You will need a pair of size 3.25mm and 4mm needles and 9 buttons.

The pattern is to fit sizes 82 – 107cm (32” – 42”) chest.
