Welcome to the Make It Sweet Cowl, the first in a series of patterns inspired by the Broadway musical Waitress. The mock-waffle and mesh panels in this cowl, reminiscent of pie crusts, are meant to keep you cozy while still giving a relaxed and airy feel.

This pattern uses U.S. crochet abbreviations. Gauge is not listed here, as it is not essential to the integrity of the pattern. The nature of the stitches used gives the finished piece some inherent stretch.

This pattern uses between 400 and 500 yards of fingering weight yarn. The sample pictured here and throughout the pattern was crocheted using about two and one-third skeins of Knit Picks Palette in Raspberry Heather, with a 4.25mm (G) hook.

Finished measurements for the pattern are 21 in. x 10 in. (53.34 cm x 25.4 cm). The finished piece is large enough to wrap once comfortably around the neck (i.e., into two layers), or be worn unwrapped.

Enjoy.
