Maligar is a contemporary take on traditional stranded colourwork garments. The Yoke section is full of excitement with two different colour patterns happening simultaneously! A simple and easy to memorise one on the sleeves and a more complex one on the body. Perfect opportunity for some focused, concentrated knitting that gives your mind a chance to stay quiet and centered for a while.
But there is also plenty of plain stockinette! After all the hard work (not really! ;) is done you can relax working the familiar knit stitches in the round, which you can probably do with your eyes closed, while completing the garment.
In terms of construction, Maligar is a seamless sweater, worked from the top down. It features the contiguous set-in sleeves method as developed by Susie Myers.
Neck finishing concludes the project, which consists of picking up stitches around the neck and working an I-cord bind-off all the way around.
