I found myself on a sock knitting spree and just couldn’t stop. This chocolate bar like seed stitch pattern, I used for my Mama Bear Pullover is irresistible. And even when I had doubts, fellow Instagrammers voted to keep and finish this design. So I obliged. Hope you like it.

Sizes

  • The pattern is written for three sizes 1 (2, 3) to fit 17 (20.5, 22.9) cm (6.75 (8, 9) in) foot/leg circumference.
  • Leg length from the cuff to the start of the heel: ca. 9 cm (3.5 in).
  • The sample is shown in size 2 on 38 (UK 5.5, US 7.5) shoe size feet.

Yarn
1 skein of Basic Sock Hemp from a local to me dyer Wol Met Verve, 67% superwash virgin wool, 23% biodegradable nylon, 10% hemp with 420 m (459 yds) in 100 g skein, shown in shade Terra Cotta.
Or any other sock yarn to match the gauge.
For the sample pair I used 58 g or 244 m (266 yds) of yarn.

Needles and notions

  • 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needles or DPNs;
  • a few stitch markers;
  • a crochet hook or a tapestry needle;
  • a cable needle (optional).

Gauge
34 sts & 44 rnds in 10 cm (4 in) measured over seed stitch worked in the round on 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles after blocking.
Adjust the needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
