Mamacita is an original lace design, inspired by my mama. This color blue is so HER, and I wanted to make her something with yarn from my stash that wasn’t lace-weight or itchy. This yarn is so soft, and she loves her flowers and birds. The motifs at the bottom look like wings and/or hearts. It’s what I’m giving her to wrap around herself to remind her of me when she’s missing me. And I’m going to make one for myself to remind me of her.

This triangular shawl is knit from the center top down to the bottom edges. The pattern is charted, and instructions are given for modifying size.

Mamacita uses 3 skeins of dk weight yarn, but is easily made larger by working more repeats as instructed (an additional 50g/150 yard skein of Manos Silk Blend would be needed in order to make it one size larger.)

Any weight of yarn can be used for this pattern: Using a needle at least 2 to 3 sizes larger than what is suggested for your yarn of choice will give your lace room to expand. The larger needle you use, the lacier the effect after blocking.

Measurements:
The blue sample photographed measured 34x69”
(86x 175cm) relaxed after blocking.

Gauge is not crucial.
