Mami & Mini-Me | Crochet Headbands

Two headbands, one beautiful stitch pattern – and a little story behind them.

Mami & Mini-Me includes two cosy crochet headbands worked in a beautifully textured herringbone stitch: a playful children’s version with a bow and a casual adult version with a turban-style detail.

I originally designed these headbands for my niece as part of a school project. Years later, I brought the pattern back from my archives and gave it a fresh new look – ready for another autumn and winter season.

The Mini-Me headband is worked flat in rows and finished with a separately crocheted bow. The Mami headband is worked in rounds and completed with a small textured rectangle that wraps around the centre to create the turban-style look.

The herringbone texture is created with a simple variation of the half treble crochet (US: half double crochet).

The free pattern includes written row-by-row instructions as well as crochet charts.

Mami & Mini-Me | Häkelstirnbänder
