Mandala Girasol
Spanish & English | Right-handed & Left-handed versions
DETAILS
Girasol means sunflower in Spanish.
This design stems from the idea of making my regular mandala designs but with more than one color.
I decided to recreate a sunflower because the seeds are well defined and separated from the petals, which was perfect for the construction.
CONSTRUCTION
Girasol is worked from the center outwards.
It starts with the pinhole cast-on method and the Pi shawl formula.
The center is worked with a brown yarn combining garter stitch, seed stitch and simple increases to create the “seeds”.
Then you change to a yellow yarn and work in lace pattern to achieve the “petals”.
You can hang it on to an embroidery hoop or use it on its own as a table decoration. You can also sew it on to a round pillow.
You may choose between a small size or a bigger size, last one having two different petal options

DETALLES
