Members of the Espace Tricot team have put together this collection to raise money for organizations doing crucial work in our communities. 100% of proceeds raised from the Crossroads Collection (individual patterns and e-book) will be split between La Ligue des Noirs du Québec (The Black Coalition of Quebec) and the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal until July 17th . While the e-book will only be available until July 17, patterns will be available as permanent individual downloads after that date.

Mänty is a triangular modular-knit shawl, blending meditative stockinette and textural garter with a playful kickpleat border. Knit in a rustic single-ply, the lofty fabric and light halo recall carpets of moss and dappled sunlight on a forest floor. Mänty, meaning “pine” in Finnish, is inspired by the pine woods and blue waters of my step-family’s Finnish home – the memories we carry into adulthood of childhood summer holidays spent roaming through forests, foraging pinecones and shells, jumping in and out of freezing cold lakes.

Humble Twist (100% Canadian wool; 393 m/430 y per 115 g)
2 skeins, 1 in each colour, shown in Dollhouse and Secret Bridges or approximately 366 m/400 y MC and 343 m/375 y CC of a sport- or DK-weight yarn.

Non-superwash yarns are recommended, such as Brooklyn Tweed Loft, Rowan CashmereTweed, and Rauma Strikkegarn 3-ply. If using a superwash yarn, choose a DK or light worsted.
