Maple 3D Leaf Shawl

DESCRIPTION
- One of a kind, first as a 3D done in linear motion - easy and so beautiful, stunning to wear and outstanding when looking at.

The Shawl is crochet with two (2) different stages, first is the shawl in NET stitch, and then leaves. The leaves are very fun to crochet, simple linear crochet that turns into the 3D, LEAF with DEFINITION- with simple linear motion, but when put together it looks like non-linear and gives the visual effect of a leaf. In my case, I am using 5-pointed leaf (because spreads and looks the most pleasant and eye-catching, elegant and beautiful). The variegated color yarn will give you the different shades of colors and therefore the leaves will be each different, looking like the real one. The 3D effect gives the natural looks of a leaf, the leaf that fell on the ground, it is still on the tree, the one that stayed green and that changed the color to the fall looking one. Leaf on its own is non-flat, it is 3D, and each leaf on the tree is a different – therefore I will show you how to make this 3D, this actual leaf look on a crochet leaf. And the placing of colors of leaves if also fun, also, you can add as many leaves as you wish to, you can follow my design (placing leaves on shawl) or you can do as you please, as per your imagination – it is your preference and choice, play with it and see what you like. The shawl (NET stitch can be done in any color you like – I chose white color, and white garments under the shawl, so it made the net shawl invisible (less noticeable) and the leaves are standing out, you can do black net shawl, or any color you like – and for the best results: make the net shawl in the color you will wear your clothes, so the leaves will be outstanding, contrasty and visible. The shawl is stunning on its own, gorgeous to wear and you can wear anywhere: at the wedding, or any formal function, at the cottage, or street walk – the shawl’s beauty will glamour your natural beauty and you will “stand out nicely in the crowd.”

Skill level: Intermediate and for everyone who is willing to learn – FUN to work with and Rewarding to see the end/final result – this time LINEAR CROCHET towards 3D leaf.
Sizing: Shawl: width: 170 cm/67 inch x length: 102 cm/40 inch
Fall Leaf: approx. 20 cm/8 inch x 20 cm/8 inch
Materials: Fall Leaves: 1 – 2 balls of 100g of lace yarn, or sock yarn (preferably light weight)
Shawl: 1 – 2 balls of 100g of lace yarn, or sock yarn (preferably light weight)
Notions: pins, sewing needle, crochet hook.
Tension: Leaf: this is linear transforming into non-linear pattern that when put together it creates leaf, curved/rounded shape, and there is no tension needed to follow – (crochet steady, not too loose and not too firmly for the proper 3D leaf results) and DO NOT block leaves.
Crochet hook: 3.5 or 4 mm
Leaves: 20 + (as per your desire) – I used 36 leaves and 2 yarn balls of 100g = 200g of color variegated thin/lace yarn
