Mapleton is a simple, delicate accessory highlighted by a pretty scalloped edging.
It is worked sideways adding the edging as you go. This keeps things beautifully basic and allows you to manage your yarn so that you don’t run out and can use every last metre.
Pattern includes instructions (written and charted) for both a shawl and scarf version and approximate yardage for multiple yarn weights.
Perfect for the confident beginner, simply choose your favourite yarn, grab a hook and get started!

Small shawl: 53” (135cm) wide X 14” (36cm) deep
Large shawl: 68” (175cm) wide X 23” (59cm) deep
Scarf: 64” (162cm) X 6” (15cm)
Of course, these sizes are suggestions only. You can make yours as long/wide as you wish.

Yarn: Whatever yarn you like! This design can be worked up using just about any fibre and yarn weight. Cotton, silk, alpaca and bamboo blends would be the most ideal as they are more likely to drape gently. But if you are after a squishy warm winter shawl or scarf, 100% wool will also work beautifully.

Gauge: For this design, gauge is not critical. Simply aim for a soft fluid fabric suited to the yarn you have chosen.

Skill level: EASY
This is a project created using basic stitches and requires minimal shaping and finishing. It would be a great project for the adventurous beginner.
