Mara Pullover
The Mara Pullover is a closet staple v-neck sweater with a cozy folded neckband, oversized fit and raglan shaping to highlight the garter rib texture. Knit it in fingering weight held double for all the warmth, or DK held single for an all-season sweater.
CONSTRUCTION
—
The Mara Pullover is worked top down and seamlessly. Circular needles are used to work flat, beginning with the yoke shaped with raglan increases. The yoke is joined in the round after the neckline shaping, continuing raglan increases in the round. The work is then divided and sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is worked. It is finished with 1x1 ribbing and bound off.
The sleeves are worked one at a time, placing the held stitches back onto a circular needle and working in pattern in the round. The sleeves gradually decrease to the wrist and finish with 1x1 ribbing and bound off.
Stitches are picked up around the neck and worked with v-neck shaping to twice the final height, then folded inward and joined to the inside of the sweater.

SKILLS
—
This is a written pattern assuming foundational sweater knitting knowledge and is not intended to be beginner friendly. Supplemental research or practice to learn new skills may be required to complete this project.
This pattern requires a working knowledge of knitting flat and in the round, increasing and decreasing in pattern, reading a simple chart, picking up stitches, Italian bind off.
Circular needles are used to work flat and in the round, starting with the longer cable for the yoke and body, switching to a short cable for the sleeves. A short cable or DPNs are used for sleeve ribbing.
The suggested cast on and bind off methods can be substituted with any other.
