This PDF is a 22-page pdf that I consider an intermediate/advanced crochet pattern. It is not for beginners, but I do have over 70 pictures to help and two charts. This pattern took me over a year to write and then additional years to have finished.

Marcellus is over 4’ tall and 30” around at his head. He is huge. This is a time involved creation.

I also have another smaller octopus pattern in my store that has detailed photos that is more beginner friendly.

I give full written instructions on how to make this octopus. As mentioned above I have over 70 photos included in this pattern to help you create this gigantic beast. I have also included two charts at the end for notation as you go to help you check off as you go.

This pattern uses a size G/4mm hook and a LOT of yarn. I have used Craft Smart Value Tweed a 4-ply yarn in Mustard and Navy. Value Tweed is 252 yds/5oz/231m/141g per skein and I used almost all of 8 skeins. I used 5 in Navy and 3 in Mustard with the top of my example being Navy and the bottom being Mustard. You can choose any color or any two colors. I do believe that the colors that I used in my example are now discontinued. I highly encourage you to grab an extra skein or two of the yarn you choose if it’s close to the same yardage as the skeins that I have chosen since I did only have the smallest of two balls left. You tension and gauge may be different than mine and you may need more yardage.

I also used 30mm glass eyes, but safety eyes will also work.
