This pattern is of confident beginner difficulty.
This is a loose-fitting cardigan, with deep armholes and a delicate daisy stitch, giving a lacy texture to the cardigan. The cardigan is worked from the bottom up, back and forth, with the sleeves worked separately in the round, then joined to the body at the armholes. The cardigan is then completed in one piece, with the neck/button band worked by picking up 1x1 rib twisted stitches all around the front edges. The length should sit just at the waistline, for a boxy look, but you can work this longer if you prefer, by working the body further before joining the sleeves. It is designed to be a generous fit, so that it can easily be worn over other garments. If you prefer a looser or tighter fit, then consider the garment sizing for the next size up or down.
Instructions are first given for Size 1, with all instructions for further sizes in brackets, as listed above. Sizes are numbered, rather than UK clothing sizes, but for reference, size 1 is equivalent to UK size 4, and size 11 is equivalent to UK size 38.
