Knit a Russian doll as a doorstop, or as a lovely bookend to brighten up your bookshelf.

The doll’s apron is decorated with embroidery, and this is a super way to experiment with different embroidery stitches. Alternatively you can sew on some felt shapes to decorate the apron.

This is knitted flat on straight needles in acrylic DK yarns (double knitting, light worsted weight).

YOU WILL NEED:

  • A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
  • DK (double knitting, light worsted weight yarns); up to to 30g in each colour
  • Black and pink embroidery thread for the features
  • Toy filling
