Color plus texture equals fun!

Inspired by Bohus Stickning techniques, these mittens combine stranded knitting with strategically-placed purl stitches that add texture and blend the color gradient.

The mitten tip is beautifully rounded, and the thumb shaping is part welt part flap for an excellent fit.

Construction: Mittens are worked in the round from cuff to top. Thumb is picked up from held stitches along with a few pick up and knits.

Size: Palm circumference is 7”. Total length is 12”. Cuff length is 5”.

Yarn: Sunday Knits 5 ply worsted weight yarn. Kits at www.sundayknits.com/knit_maribo.html.

Substitute any light worsted weight yarn that works nicely to gauge: 175 yd main color plus 25 yds each of three contrasting colors.

Techniques: Stranded knitting, pick up and knit.

Pattern includes: Written instructions, cuff color pattern in charted format only, link to tutorial on joining colors.
