This design uses short-rows and contrasting colors to create adjacent triangles that form a design similar to the Mariner’s Compass block often found in quilts. It can easily be altered in size by casting on more (or fewer) stitches.

The pattern contains a diagram, thorough explanations, and pictures are provided to guide you through the stages of this design, including the unique method of picking up the wraps. Thorough row-by-row instructions are given for each of the three sizes: 5” coaster, 7.25” dishcloth, and 9.5” facecloth.
