El Chal Mariquilla está inspirado en la localidad española de Sevilla, una ciudad marcada por el contraste cultural y de una belleza excepcional, con bellísimos monumentos, entre los que cabe destacar la Giralda (la torre de la Catedral), y hermosas calles y plazas con olor a azahar.

Es un chal triangular simétrico de construcción top-down. Se empieza con un montaje de lengüeta y combina dos secciones: una de punto liso o punto jersey que recuerda las plazas y parques de albero y otra de brioche bicolor que, a través del punto brioche estrella, crea una textura similar a la de la Giralda. Termina con un volante, tan característico de la moda flamenca, que recuerda también al capote de los toreros.

Como bonus, tienes la opción de bordar también las Mariquillas, los famosos broches de la Esperanza Macarena.

HILADO
Tres madejas de Ángel de Encayarns (70% baby alpaca NSW, 20% seda, 10% cachemira) (400 m/100 g) u otro hilado similar.

• Color A: 2 madejas (en la muestra se ha usado el color Honey).
• Color B: 1 madeja (en la muestra se ha usado el color Cherry).
• Color C (opcional): Unos metros de un resto de grosor fingering que tengas por casa para bordar las Mariquillas (en la muestra se ha usado el color Esmeralda).

MATERIALES

• Agujas circulares de 3,5 mm (o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión) y cable de, al menos, 80 cm.
• Agujas circulares del tamaño inferior a las anteriores.
• Marcadores.

The Mariquilla Shawl is inspired by the Spanish city of Seville, a city known for its cultural contrast and exceptional beauty, with its stunning monuments including La Giralda (the tower of the cathedral), and many beautiful streets and squares full of the fragrance of orange blossom.

This is a symmetrical triangular shawl that is worked top-down. It begins with a garter tab cast-on and consists of two sections: one in stockinette stitch to represent the squares and parks covered in albero (typical yellow sand of the region) and the other in two-colour brioche, which, through the use of the brioche star stitch, creates a texture similar to that of La Giralda. It finishes with a ruffle, so characteristic of Flamenco fashion, which also reminds us of the capes worn by bullfighters.

As a bonus, you also have the option to finish the shawl with embroidered Mariquillas, the famous brooches of the virgin Esperanza Macarena.

Three skeins of Ángel from Encayarns (70% baby alpaca NSW, 20% silk, 10% cashmere) (400m/100g) or another similar yarn.

• Colour A: 2 skeins (the sample shown used the colour Honey).
• Colour B: 1 skein (the sample shown used the colour Cherry).
• Colour C (optional): A few metres of leftover fingering weight yarn to embroider the Mariquillas onto the bottom edge (the sample shown used the colour Esmeralda).

MATERIALS

• 3.5mm circular needles (or size needed to get gauge) and a cable of at least 80cm.
• Circular needles one size smaller than those used to get gauge.
• Stitch markers.
• Scissors.
• Tapestry needle.

Questo scialle è ispirato alla città di Siviglia, famosa per i suoi contrasti culturali e la sua eccezionale bellezza, per i suoi straordinari monumenti tra i quali la Giralda (la torre della cattedrale) e le sue molte strade e piazze avvolte dalla meravigliosa fragranza dei fiori d’arancio.

Mariquilla è uno scialle simmetrico triangolare lavorato top-down. Comincia con un avvio garter tab e consiste di due sezioni: una, a maglia rasata, rappresenta le piazze e i giardini coperti dal cosiddetto albero, la sabbia gialla caratteristica della regione; l’altra, a punto brioche in due colori, grazie al punto stella crea una texture che ricorda i motivi presenti sulla Giralda. Lo scialle termina con una balza, tipica dello stile Flamenco, che rimanda anche alle mantelle indossate dai toreri.

Come bonus, puoi scegliere di rifinire lo scialle ricamando delle Mariquillas, le famose spille della vergine Esperanza Macarena.

• Colore B: 1 matassa (per l’esempio mostrato è stato usato il colore Cherry).
• Colore C (facoltativo): Alcuni metri di filato fingering avanzato per ricamare le Mariquillas sul bordo inferiore (per l’esempio mostrato è stato usato il colore Esmeralda).

• Ferri circolari da 3.5mm (o nella misura necessaria per ottenere la tensione desiderata) e un cavo da almeno 80cm.
• Ferri circolari di una misura più piccola di quelli usati per ottenere la tensione indicata.
• Marcapunti.
• Forbici.
• Ago da lana.
