Mariza is a playful skirt inspired by vintage summers with a bohemian flair. Knit with six different colors and grounded with a neutral Ecru color, small amounts of yarn are used for each stripe. Easily adjustable to your own color palette, this skirt can also be a great scrap-busting project.

The skirt is worked flat, sideways, alternating between different color stripes and 3 pattern sections (Garter, Stockinette, and Chevron.) The Main Color is carried throughout, and other colors are cut at each color change. Knitted double-sided waistband conceals the ends and gives structure to the waist. German Short-rows are used to shape the skirt. To determine the proper size/fit, measure the waist and knit the fabric until the top of the skirt is desired width.

Sample skirt was knit to 38” waist circumference, using a full skein of Main Color (Ecru), and approximately 50-60g of the other 6 colors. You can also change the number of colors used, or the Stripe Sequence, for a completely custom look.
