Marlene Darted Jumper (Sweater) Collection;
This design was inspired by a desire to wear a ‘sloppy joe’ style jumper that is actually flattering.

The dropped armhole opening makes a relaxed fit that doesn’t make the chest stand out; the sleeve pickup creates a dart in the armhole, thus creating ease.

This is a multi-option design collection!
You can make a sleeveless version, longer or crop length, and even drop the bottom band. Make full length or shorter balloony sleeves..and you can reduce the underarm dart to add extra ease too. The neck length, your choice! The pattern is written as the base design (full length, full sleeve) but has variations you can apply at the end.

Sizing XS to 3XL - please note this is oversized, so you can down size your knit for a slimmer fit

To fit body: 110 (115) 120 (125) 135 (145) 155 cm measured around
Relaxed fit with 10cm + positive ease

☑ Intermediate knitting level - skills needed; cast on, knit, purl, knit in the round, short rows, pickup stitches, optional 3-needle bind off, cast off

☑ 4.5mm (US7) circular needles with 60cm and 100cm cables; knit in the round

☑ Recommended wool; Sumptuous by The Woven Co (available in my store)

Pattern written in a less traditional style to be less technical and give the crafter room to adjust the fit and style

Featured colours are Smoke, Pineapple and Sherbet

Design Notes:
This unique jumper is knit from the bottom up, in the round. At the bottom of the low armhole, you will be splitting the front and back in half to work each side separately. The split happens low to create sleeve darts under the arm. The front will then split around the neck with decreases on the neckline. The back works up to short rows to create shaping on the shoulders. The front and back are then joined at the shoulder with a 3-needle bind off. The neck is picked up from the remaining stitches and worked in the round to your ideal length. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round with darted decreases under the arm before working straight down for a relaxed balloon-style sleeve.

There is an option to adjust the body length. Sleeves sizes and lengths can be adjusted too, including a sleeveless alternative.

DESIGN UPDATES to include a vest, v-neck, dolman sleeves are all in the works!
