This pattern is dedicated to my parents, Mary Ellen (nee Winn) and Colin Henry. I’m the best that I can be because of them. Love you!

This pattern is for intermediate to advanced crocheters. The thing which makes it challenging is crocheting with both colours in a single row (i.e. pass 1 then pass 2).

This pattern could also be done with one colour of cake, and treating the zig zag portion of the pattern as a granny square.

The shawl uses single crochet, double crochet, slip stitches and chains. The suggested edge also uses treble clusters and picots. You can change the edge to suit.

You can change the position of the solid band—allowing for more zig zags—and of the position of the suggested edge.

There are small charts in each row of the written pattern to assist with visualising the order of stitches and the placement of stitches relative to the row below.

The pictured one used Scheepjes Whirl Yarn in Sherbert Rainbow (x1) and Brambleberry (x1). I used a 3.5mm.
