The idea for these footies came to me walking in a hot city, getting dust in my shoes, sore toes and heels being the result. I considered wearing socks in these shoes, but I wanted tanned feet and my vanity said no to pale ankles. This is the result of my dilemma and I am so happy with them I wanted to make a pattern for them, to spread the joy.

Because this pattern has no instep, sizes are easily adjusted, just cast on more or less stitches.

This pattern is very suited to use up leftovers from other socks.

Other than yarn you will need something to stuff the pocket that keeps them in place, I used fiberfill, but roving or yarncuttings will do just fine.
