2022 Slow Yarn Crawl pattern from Stilly River Yarns!
How’s that? A yarn crawl? Yep - even if you can’t travel, or shops aren’t able to open yet, we’re on: the Slow Crawl is virtual again this year, too! That actually means you can join in from anywhere!
Get a passport from this shop or other participating shops (they’re $10)
Starting May 27th, visit all the shops - online, or safely in person
Each participating shop will give you the download codes for their pattern and a sticker or stamp for your passport (purchase required for virtual “visits”)
Fill up your passport, and be eligible for prizes!

If you’re not into the idea of traditional beekeeping, mason bees offer excellent pollination potential with way fewer stings… plus you can build or hang all kinds of mason bee houses to give them a place in your garden. One of the mason bee shelter ideas I found while making plans for our home pollinator garden reminded me of the central diamond motif featured in these mitts

Difficulty Level: intermediate

Size: Adult S / M / L (sample shown in large)

Yarn: 1 hank Vintage DK (wool/nylon/acrylic, 290 yards / 100g, DK-weight) - sample shown in Chana Dal colorway (2192)

Needle: .US4 / 3.5mm in your preferred configuration for small-circumference knitting in the round; I used 9”/23cm needles for the body of the mitts and double-pointed needles (DPNs) for the thumb.

Gauge: 24 sts / 33 rounds = 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch

Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn
