What you need to know: I consider this plush to be moderate to hard. While you only need to know basic stitches like chaining, inc/dec, sc, dc, hdc, tc/linked tc and slip stitch, there are still some other things that may seem a little complicated to a beginner. You’ll want to know how to make magic rings, crochet in a continuous round/joining round, change colors in the middle of rounds, what the right and wrong side of the fabric is, stuffing techniques, being able to crochet stitches around sc posts, using yarn to stitch extra details, and sewing parts together.

This pattern will also make use of “short rows,” a technique of switching to rows to help shape the fabric. Specifically it will be used in Legion’s head, as well as help construct the hole for Legion’s body.

Additionally, Legion’s head will also feature a technique in which some single crochets will be made over the existing round by inserting the hook into the stitchs of the previous row. These stitches will be marked as “sc over sc.”
