Mathilde the Princess is made with basic amigurumi techniques, head and torso in one piece, and then the four limbs are sewn on. Her hair is attatched to a wig cap, and the pattern includes tutorial on how to make curls. The doll measures approx. 16 cm (6.3 in), and she has a whole wardrobe of clothes to choose from.

Materials:

  • Yarn: You’re free to substitute the 8/4 cotton yarn for this project, but I recommend using the same yarn for both your doll and her wardrobe to be sure the clothes will fit. For the doll I used ~20 grams of skin colour and ~20 grams for hair.
  • Crochet hook, darning needle and pins
  • Fibre filling
  • Safety eyes size 6 mm and floss for embroidering details on face
  • For ball gown: Soft tulle, sewing thread, small hook and eye closure and embellishment such as sequins, rhinestones or beads.

The written pattern includes lots of photos, and it has a section called Tips & Explanations, where most special stitches and different techniques are explained.
