The Matisse Jazz sweater is a bottom-up knit sweater with intarsia colorwork motifs inspired by Henri Matisse’s paper cut outs. I have drawn inspiration from many of the shapes Matisse explored through his paper cut outs, largely drawn from his Jazz collection for the theatrical expressive elements he discovered. Using LUFT to incorporate an airy and elegant quality to the fabric in combination with vibrant and timeless colour expression. The fit of the Matisse Jazz sweater is also reminiscent of the cut outs as it features balloon sleeves, a mock neck collar for an elevated neckline and 2x2 ribbing.
