MATT’S SOCKS, MICHELLE’S STORY
Matt’s Socks kits are named in memory of Matt Sunter, the late husband of Project Knitwell Executive Director Michelle Maynard. During Matt’s long battle with cancer, Michelle knit many pairs of socks—many of them in doctor’s offices and hospital waiting rooms as a way to help her cope, feel more grounded, and even be a better caregiver. Proceeds from the sale of these kits benefit Project Knitwell and enable it to serve more patients, caregivers, at-risk teens, and others facing stressful situations as well as to build a sustainable organization.

PROJECT KNITWELL
Project Knitwell is a nonprofit organization that brings the joy of knitting and its therapeutic benefits to people facing stressful situations. Project Knitwell volunteers provide knitting instruction, inspiration, and quality materials in an effort to foster wellness, comfort, and community among those it serves in hospital and community settings.
