Knitting Pattern in English for a cardigan with a relaxed fit, a checked pattern, deep V-neck and a double knitted button band in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL.

Structure:
The cardigan is knitted top down in once piece with raglan increases and additional increases to shape the V-neck. After separating the sleeves from the body, the cardigan is worked in one piece and finished with a hem in 1x1 ribbed pattern. The sleeves are worked in rounds and there are a few decreases for a (very) slight sleeve shaping. They are finished with a hem in 1x1 ribbed pattern too. A striped pattern is worked over body and sleeveswhich will become a checked pattern in the end, when the vertical crochet stripes are worked. For the double knitted button band you are going to pick up stitches along the neckline and the two front parts. Then the button band is worked in double knitting and in the end the buttons are attached to the button band.
The fit of the cardigan is slightly oversized and the relaxed fit is emphasized by the (very) slight sleeve shaping. Additionally to the double knitted button band, the checked pattern over body and sleeves is the highlight of the cardigan. The length is short and therefore the cardigan is perfect for high waisted trousers and skirts. Depending on your individual preferences the length of the cardigan can be easily adapted, but please note that you might need more or less yarn than indicated in the pattern.

Level of difficulty: medium to advanced
Please note: The required techniques of the pattern are not that difficult, but it might take a lot of endurance (and imagination, even if there are knitting charts provided for the placement of the vertical stripes) to work the crochet stripes of the checked pattern.
