Make the most of your yarn with this asymmetrical triangular
shawl. Start with one stitch and increase until you run out of yarn!
The drop-stitch pattern shows off solid, semisolid, handpainted,
and speckled yarns beautifully.

The yarn I used, a 30% organic cotton and 70% Merino wool from a Peruvian company called Aslli, is soft and warm, perfect for all seasons. You can substitute your favorite worsted weight yarn and make your shawl as big as you like! Just keep knitting!

Here’s what I did to make a three-color striped fingering weight version:

I used a size 7 needle rather than the size 9 indicated in the pattern.

I made my stripes 30 rows wide; that is, I worked 30 rows in my semi-solid, 30 rows in my hand-painted, and 30 rows in my speckle. I cut the yarn between stripes because 30 rows is a long time to carry unused yarn up the side of the work. You can, of course, knit stripes of any width you’d like! The drop stitch pattern is a multiple of 6 rows, so I recommend a multiple of 6.
