The May Day Magic tea cosy was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 198 which went on sale on the 23rd April 2020.

It is a great stash busting tea cosy that just makes you feel full of the joys of spring. The design was inspired by May Day, maypoles and maypole dancing.

The fenial at the top of the tea cosy is the top of the maypole and then the ribbons coming off it give it a crown like appearance.

The nod to the dancers at the bottom in their little white dresses. I didn’t want to add too much detail to them, I only wanted them to be an impression of the dancers. And all around are spring flowers.

It’s such a pretty tea cosy with its spring inspired colour pallet and little blooms. Perfect for creating May Day Magic.
