A loop scarf for Spring, this is the May design for Cottars Almanac. Comfortingly simple to knit, but if you choose a delicate, blossom-inspired pastel with a subtle, silky sheen, it has a lightness and sophistication that feels refreshing after the heavier woollens you have loved all winter. A loop scarf is also perfect Spring transition-wear: Worn long it is mainly an accent of colour and texture for warmer days; looped twice around the neck, it keeps out those unexpectedly chill winds on days that look sunnier and warmer from indoors than when you go out.
Skills Required: Making a provisional cast-on; working knit and purl in sequence; grafting stitches (e.g. using Kitchener stitch or similar).
I will be donating proceeds from pattern sales for this design to UK Mental Health charity ‘Mind’.
