Meadowbright is a light, joyful nod (and a sunny wink) to the humble marsh marigolds - small, bright yellow flowers scattered along the water’s edge resembling tiny clusters of star constellations.
With its fun tip-to-tip construction and a simple overall lace grid, Meadowbright is the more playful and adventurous younger sister of the Meadow duo.

Designed as a quick and mood-boosting knit, it offers two sizes, with the basic mini shawlette requiring just one skein (270yds/ 248m) of a light fingering weight wool of Biches & Bûches Le Petit Lambswool or any other yarn equivalent. I wanted to create a light yet simple lace design, a breezy project that takes minimal yardage and effort to make, yet is so compelling and fun to knit, you can’t stop at just one.

CONSTRUCTION
Meadowbright is a symmetrical, shallow triangle shawl knit sideways starting at a tip with regular increases along its right-side edge to reach its full depth before tapering off with decreases until the other tip has been reached. Pattern comprises of eyelet lace grids featuring simple eyelet flowers throughout the shawl, which can be substituted with embroidered flowers instead. The edges are finished in i-cord for a simple, clean and timeless look.

The pattern includes full row-by-row written instructions and is fully charted, which means you do not have to consult row-by-row instructions, if you wish to work from the charts only.

TECHNIQUES USED
Basic lace stitches, i-cord, embroidery.
